About the Blog and Author

Welcome to Catholic New York’s blog – Footprints on the Journey!

My name is Juliann DosSantos and I’ve been a reporter for Catholic New York newspaper for nine years—and many of my assignments put me in contact with young adults at different stages of belief.

Some have just returned to the Church, others want to deepen their faith, others feel a bit lost and still others are not sure what to believe.

Often, when speaking with people, and even in my own life, I am reminded of the poem “Footprints” in which a man is walking along the shore, and wonders where God is at various points in his life.  No matter how many times I read it, when God in the poem responds that during the difficult times, “It was then that I carried you,” I know that God is there with me as well.

I hope that with this blog—peope at all stages in their journey—can come to realization that God really is there—even if you can’t see him.

Together we can create a virtual community that will together try to make sense of what’s going on in the Church, in New York, and in the world today.

Also, if you are looking for a way to start  journaling, check out my new book, “Footprints on the Journey.”

“Footprints” is a spiritual journal for young adults that focuses on the themes of hope, joy and contemplation. Accompanying each entry is a discussion question with a blank page for personal reflections.

“Footprints on the Journey” is available for $13.95 through Catholic New York’s website at http://www.cny.org/footprintsbookorders.html or by calling (212) 688-2399 ext. 3121.
