One of the benefits of working at Catholic New York is that I receive information from around the archdiocese on different events taking place. This weekend, a new group is launching a praise and worship night. It looks like it should be fun and faith-filled.
The night is called “Live to Worship” and will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 230 East 90th St., Manhattan, beginning at 7 p.m. The group running it is “New Name,” a Catholic charismatic community.
Our Lady of Good Counsel may be familiar to those of you who attend The Catholic Underground. If not, the church is a beautiful place with a large hall for group gatherings.
There are a few features of the night that make it similar to the Underground, with Eucharistic adoration and confession, but will also include new ways of worship, including prayer teams. Father Louis, C.F.R., is the spiritual director.
If you’re looking for something different to do this Saturday, this may be it!
The group has a Facebook page you can check out for more information: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=125893954125434
Have a Good Weekend, everyone!
