I don’t know about you, but I am completely looking forward to this coming weekend. Right now, I’m staring out of my office window as the sun shines down through the clouds on a beautiful Manhattan skyline. It’s a drastically different skyline than the dark, dreary and overcast one I saw when I came in this morning. And with that change, the weekend arrives.
I often feel that people are required to always be on the go, to always perform at 100 percent, and to always be ready to take on more responsibilities and tasks. Sometimes it’s hard to just give yourself a break and just relax. Today, though, as I was thinking about this, I remembered that even God took a rest. In the Bible, there are quite a few quotes from Jesus on rest. There is one in particular that I am thinking of, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28). This weekend, I hope to relax and put down my burdens for a while. I think Jesus would approve.
I hope all of you enjoy the weekend, and have a chance to rest!
